William had two wives and had sizeable families with both women. However, I believe some of the children attributed to him in the trees on FamilySearch.org actually include orphaned nephews and a niece raised by his mother in Wisner, Nebraska. In the 1910 Census, widowed William is living in the same household with his mother, his children and the nephews and niece, leading to the confusion. His mother's obituary stated she raised four grandchildren after their parents both died.
