Lynn J. Wood, 87, Harrisville, passed away Wednesday January 10th 2024, at the Lewis County Residential Healthcare Facility in Lowville, NY.
Lynn was born in Carthage October 16th, 1936, to Lawrence and Jennie Weeks Wood.
He was united in marriage to Joyce A. LaParr January 21, 1955, at St. Francis Solonus Church with the Rev. Eugene Kelly officiating.
Lynn worked for St. Regis Paprer Corp in Harrisville for a short time and later for Newton Falls Paper Company retiring in 1990 as a tower boss. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. After retirement, he and his wife would spend their winters in Florida and summers at Black Lake.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Joyce of Harrisville, his children, a son and wife of Lowville, three sons and their wives of Harrisville, a daughter and husband of Adams, a daughter and husband of Harrisville, a daughter and husband of Beaver Falls. He has 14 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, two brothers and their wives of Colorado, and Florida, a sister and husband of Colorado, a sister and husband of Rochester, three sisters-in-law, all of Harrisville, three brothers-in-law of Tupper Lake, Harrisville and Florida and many nieces and nephews.
Lynn was predeceased by a grandson, Matthew James Wood, a nephew, Russell Wood, three brothers, Edwin David(6 months), Gordon and Gerald Wood, four sisters, Pauline in infancy, Joyce Wood Richardson, Irene Wood Burr, Kathleen Wood Murphy and her husband Francis, a brother-in-law Larry LaParr and a sister-in-law Patsy LaParr Ford.
