He married Jacque Alvis in 1959 and they were married for over 30 years. They had two children, Eric Kimbrough and Angela Kimbrough (Saul) Espinoza. He married Barbara Joan Marshall on October 23, 1999 in Fullerton, CA.
Other survivors include two sisters, Karen (Gary) Bradley; Pat (Tandy) Kimbrough; and several nieces and nephews.
He was Valedictorian of Green High School. He graduated from Washburn University Business School. He was a Phi Delta Theta member since 1955 and President of the Kansas Beta Chapter, 1958.
He started working in college at Cunningham Shields, then to Garlinghouse Co, Victory Life, and had a 30 year career in banking; including Vice President of 1st National Bank and President of Highland Park Bank and Trust. He then became licensed as a Financial Securities Advisor and retired with FSC Securities Corporation.
He was the Chairman of the Marketing Committee for the Kansas Bankers Association, President of Topeka Country Club, Chairman of the Washburn University Board of Regents, President of the Topeka YMCA, a 40 year Topeka Rotarian, Board member of the Stormont Vail Foundation, and Chairman of the Topeka Blood Bank.
His hobbies included scuba diving, boating, poker, and his pets.
