Services for Ray Rowe, 87, of Grand Saline, are scheduled for 10 a.m., Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Bartley Funeral Home, with Bro. Donnie Herring officiating.

Burial will be in Creagleville Cemetery.

Mr. Rowe passed away January 11, 2024, in Tyler.

He was born February 11, 1936, in Harrison County, to James Franklin & Katie C. Jones Rowe.

Ray served in the Army 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict. He worked in the oil field his entire life and retired as a Superintendent for the oil field. He spent the last 48 years in Grand Saline where he was a member of the Grand Saline VFW Post 6635.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 38 years, Barbara Jean Rowe; son, Jeff Rowe; granddaughters, Magen Rowe, and Becky Massey; grandson, Justin Brittain; four sisters, Joann, Margie, Jean, and Dorothy; and three brothers, Charlie, George, and James Andrew.

Survivors include his lifelong friend, Sam Morgan of Grand Saline; three sons, Raymond Rowe and wife Evelyn of Grand Saline, Richard Rowe and wife Tammy of Sulphur Springs, and James Rowe and wife Rulayne of Ft. Worth; two daughters, Patricia Brittain of Grand Saline, and Vicky Henderson of Texarkana; brother, Kenneth Rowe of Longview; two sisters, Norma Hammond of Ore City, and Barbara Mason of Longview; seven grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Danny Campbell, Adiel Casillas, Beau Burgess, Bubba Sanders, Kevin Carpenter, and Jeff Franklin.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Randall Rowe, Jimmy Sanders, and James "Bird" Jones.

The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Monday, January 15, 2024, at the funeral home.
