Annie Nightingale; a BBC Radio 1 DJ and television presenter, had sadly passed away on Thursday 11th January 2024 at the prime age of 83. Annie was born just 7 months before the second world war began, on the 1st April 1940 in Osterley, London Borough of Hounslow, England. She was BBC Radio 1's first ever female presenter and won a Guinness World Record for the longest career as a female radio presenter. On her 50th anniversary as a radio presenter with the BBC, she had celebrated it by releasing her memoir; called 'Hey Hi Hello'. In the 1960's, Annie had trained as a journalist who then moved to Brighton, England where she would become a notable newspaper reporter with the local tabloid, the Argus.
