Bennie Joe Anderson Sr. "Pappy" age 77, of Greeneville, passed away Wednesday, January 10,2024 at his home surrounded by his family. He was loved by everyone and will be missed. Mr. Anderson was a long-term member at Macedonia Baptist Church until his health declined. He graduated from George Clem High School in 1964 as a "Wolverine" where he played both basketball and football. Shortley after graduating he enlisted in the Navy in the Vietnam Era. After returning home he coached Rec softball, teams BJ Bears and the Supremes women teams. He also played with the Drifters; he was an avid sports fan. He retired from Weavex after 33 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of fifty-three years, companion and caregiver Phyllis Miller Anderson during his failing health. Sons', Bennie Joe Anderson Jr. (Kim) of Knoxville, Jason Anderson of the home, and Angela Anderson (Deddy's Girl) of Greeneville, also his caregiver. His grandchildren whom he cherished, Chloe Anderson, Megan Anderson, Jaquay Davis, Azura Anderson, Trey Anderson (Jessica), Sierra Davis, Matthew Cole, and Spencer Moore (Alisha). Several great grandchildren whom he cherished. Sister, Patrica Elmore of Greeneville. Brother, George Franklin Anderson (Annette) of Huntsville AL. Nieces and nephews, Carnel and Charles Biggers, Shawn Anderson, Lamar Anderson and Travis Anderson. Special nieces and nephews, Nina Miller, Tanisha Tuck, and Curtis Anderson. A host of great nieces and nephews. Special C.B, friends Pansy Wills and many others.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Stephanie Davis. Two grandchildren, Kaleb Anderson, and James Tyrell Davis. Parents, Bennie and Helen Anderson. Grandparents, Earl and Mamie Anderson. Sister, Rebecca Biggers, niece and nephew Cynthia Biggers and Ronnie Anderson. Special father and mother-in -law JC and Birdie Brice, two brothers-in-law Bussie Miller, Ricky Brice; sister-in-law Carolyn Brice. A special thanks to Signature Healthcare of Greeneville, Adoration Home Health of Greeneville and Caris Healthcare of Greeneville.

The Family will receive friends Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 12-2 pm at Jeffers Funeral and Cremation Service Downtown. The Funeral will follow at 2pm with Bennie Joe Anderson Jr., Pastor Christopher McHugh and Pastor Rick Becker officiating.

Repass will follow service at Thrive Church at 116 N Rufe Taylor Road in Greeneville.

Graveside Service will be Friday, January 19, 2024, 1 pm at Mountain Home National Cemetery with the Greene County Honor Guard conducting Military Honors.
