John Robert Boger Sr., 56, of Salisbury, died Tuesday, March 21, 2006, at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem. Mr. Boger was born June 21, 1949, in Rowan County to Edith Shuping Boger of Salisbury and the late Wilbert Quinton Boger. He was a graduate of West Rowan High School Class of 1968. Mr. Boger worked at KoSa as a machinist for 37-1/2 years before retiring in 2004 and was a volunteer fireman for a few years. A n avid farmer and equestrian, he was a member of Franklin Baptist Church. Mr. Boger is survived by his wife, Donna Rae Boger, whom he married June 29, 1992; son John Robert Boger Jr. of Chapel Hill; daughter Janella Boger Hannold of Salisbury; stepchildren Cindy Dawn Pruitt and Kristie Michelle Bradley, both of Gastonia, and Dustin James Conner of Salisbury; brother Jerry Boger of Oklahoma; sisters Marilyn Basinger of Raleigh, Nancy Clendenin of Cleveland and Betsy Safrit of Salisbury; and 11 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbert Quinton "Joe" Boger Jr. Service : A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Franklin Baptist Church. The Rev. Joe Thomas, pastor of Franklin Baptist Church, and Bishop Willie Joe Gray will conduct the service. Visitation : A visitation will be held on Friday at Summersett Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m.
