Funeral services for Wayne G. Grizzle, 88, of Longview, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 11, 2012, at Lakeview Funeral Home Chapel. Mr. Grizzle was born February 19, 1924, in Paris, Texas to Leslie and Iva Veazey Grizzle, and passed away on April 6, 2012 in Longview, Texas. Wayne worked as a timer at Le Tourneu industries.
Mr. Grizzle worked hard all of his life and loved working outdoors, where he could be found piddling around on various projects. Wayne was a former member of the Longview Bowlers Association and at was one time a member of the board.
Upon the death of his father, and with a brother in the military, Wayne left school and joined the Civil Conservation Corps. and supported his mother and family left behind. Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, and his two brothers, Lewis E. Grizzle and Billy E. Grizzle. Left behind to cherish his memory is his loving wife of over 67 years, Lois Nell Grizzle; son, Bobby Wayne Grizzle; grandsons, Matthew R. Grizzle and wife Christina; and Robert W. Stansel and wife Heather; granddaughter, Lindsay K. Grizzle and friend Dustin; five great grandchildren, Bailey, Preston, Garrett, Kaleb, and Corbin, as well as three nephews; six great nephews; two great niece; and numerous great-great nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
The family will receive relatives and friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at Lakeview Funeral Home.
