Mary graduated from Reedsville High School. It was growing up in Reedsville that solidified her strong family ties and her faith. She married William A. Egan on February 5, 1955, at St. Mary's church in Reedsville WI. Together they raised a family and Mary was a dedicated wife and mother. She ran the household with grace and precision, taking meticulous notes on events she gracefully hosted, such as which foods were favorites. Mary and Bill enjoyed many travels throughout the United States and the world making many friends and wonderful memories. Each year she looked forward to her "ladies' trip" to Door County with her daughters.
Faith and family were everything to Mary. She was a longtime dedicated member of St. Joseph Parish. Mary enjoyed completing crosswords and puzzles, reading, and playing Scrabble. She was very sharp and never lost her wit or her competitive nature. Mary liked things fair, she was a graceful winner but would never take it easy on you. Mary was a role model for so many: family, friends, and fellow cancer patients.
She is survived by her children, Gail (Terry) Stuckart, Patricia Stuckart, Maryanne Gerstner, Daniel (Joy) Egan and Kathleen (Dan Novak) Egan; grandchildren, Elizabeth (James) Kitchenmaster, Katherine (Wayne) Officer, Michele Stuckart, Margaret (Sean) Vinsel, Anna Harteau, Cynthia Reisel, Devon (Andrew) Mannenbach, Zachary (significant other, Erica Diaz) Egan, Mitchell (fiancée, Laeren Yates) Egan, Cassie (fiancé, Mike Hanson) Cravillion; 12 great grandchildren and one on the way; siblings, Jerome (Julie) Vondrachek, Catherine Otte, Anne (James) Beasley, Teresa (Orrin) Piepenburg, and Gerald Vondrachek; also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.
