Mary Bernice Jones, 84, of Wayne, WV went home to be with the Lord, January 1, 2024 at her home. Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Morris Funeral Home Chapel, Wayne with Pastor Paul Michael Booth officiating. Burial will follow in the Adkins Cemetery, East Lynn, WV. She was born August 12, 1939 on Little Lynn, a daughter of the late Earl and Hazel Belva Osburn Pratt. Mary retired from WV DHHR, Wayne County Office and was a member of Canada Chapel Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, William Roger Jones, a son, David Michael Jones, a sister, Jewel Rife and two brothers, Gordon Pratt and Roy Pratt. Survivors include three sons, Roger D. Jones (Teresa) of Wayne, Brett A. Jones (Gina) of Wayne and Shawn J. Jones (Bridgett) of Hanson, KY; a very special daughter-in-law, Darlene Jones Marcum of Wayne; two sisters, Carolyn Pyles (Norman) of Philadelphia, PA and Darlene Watts (Larry) of Wayne; a brother, Larry Pratt (Donetta) of Little Lynn; twelve grandchildren, Candace A. Blankenship (J.B.), Monica J. McKnight (Tim), Amber D. Blankenship (Jeremy), Megan E. Phillips, Michael Tyler Jones (Brittany), Madison Jones (Sarah), Clara Jones, Hayleigh Burton, Emmalee Jones, Kennedy Jones, Kassidy Jones and Sutton Jones; nine great-grandchildren, Carder D. Mullins, Timothy McKnight, Avery Phillips, Miles Phillips, Dexter Jones, Noah Jones, Everly Jones, William Jones and John Jones. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 Thursday evening at Morris Funeral Home, Wayne. Mary's sons would like to extend a special thank you to Darlene Watts for all of her assistance while Mary was going through dialysis.
