NATHANIEL S. RAND IS DEAD.
WAYNE, Mich., Sept. 27.—A telegram received here announced the death of Nathaniel S. Rand at the home of a daughter in Hartford, Conn. Mr. Rand was founder and head of N. S. Rand & Son's electrotype and stereotype foundry on Larned-st., Detroit. He was 81 years old, and a pioneer settler in Detroit, but for the last four years had resided with his daughter, Mrs. W. P. Prouty, and son, Louis H. Rand, in this village.
