Former Railroad Worker
J. P. Williams, 77, of San Bernardino, died of heart failure Sunday at Loma Linda Community Hospital.
Williams, a native of Sweetwater, Texas, lived in San Bernardino for 35 years. He had worked for the Santa Fe Railway for 31 years and belonged to Masonic Lodge 648, Al Malaikah Temple and the Scottish Rite of Free Masonry and Damascus Lodge, both in San Bernardino. He was a member of the United Trainmen Union and the First Baptist Church of Clyde, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Inez of Yucaipa; three sons, Jerry of San Bernardino, and James and Jack, both of Yucaipa; a daughter, Delores Achhammer of Yucaipa; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today with services at 10 a.m. Thursday, both at Montecito Memorial Chapel, 24145 Barton Road, Loma Linda. Interment will be at Montecito Memorial Park, Waterman Avenue and Barton Road in Colton.
