Cherrye Lou Combs Blessing, 86, of Newbern, Tennessee died on Friday, August 19, 2022, at her residence in Newbern, Tennessee.
Born Monday, July 27, 1936, in Trimble, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Cherry Lambert Combs and the late Annie Lou Ragsdale Combs. Mrs. Blessing, along with her husband, Mason "Buddy" Blessing, were longtime business owners in the community including Blessing Auto Sales and B & W Auto Parts, which is still being run today by their daughter, Jill Blessing. She was a member of Palestine Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Graveside services for Mrs. Blessing will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, August 21, 2022, at Poplar Grove Cemetery in Newbern, Tennessee. Officiating this service will be Rev. James Combs. Visitation for Mrs. Blessing will be held on Sunday from 11:00 AM until 12:45 PM at Johnson-Williams Funeral Home.
She leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Selina Lou Dowden (Philip) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Penny Michelle Bessent (Mark) of Newbern, Tennessee and Delila Jill Blessing (Vernon Volner) of Newbern, Tennessee; two sisters, Janice Morris of Trimble, Tennessee and Sally Evans of Newbern, Tennessee and she was "Mawmaw" to her seven grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-four years, Mason "Buddy" Blessing; one son, Dennis Mason Blessing; one daughter, Joni Marie Enochs; one brother, Paul Combs and one sister. Alice Dodson.
Honoring Mrs. Blessing as pallbearers will be Josh Enochs, Chad Enochs, Vernon Volner, Mark Bessent, Philip Dowden, Jason Dowden, Adam Smith and Jose Ruiz.
The family would like to thank Tammy Watkins for the love and care that she has extended to The Blessing Family.
