Franklin G. "Jerry" Brooks, 61, of Brodhead, widower of Glenna Fletcher Brooks, died Saturday, April 5, 2003 at his residence.

He was born August 13, 1941 in Brodhead, the son of George and Matilda Frith Brooks. He was a member of the Brodhead Christian Church, had been a truck driver for Kentucky State Hwy. Department and was a Kentucky Colonel.

Survivors are two brothers, Donnie Brooks (Mary) of Lebanon, Ohio and George W. Brooks, Jr. of Ft. Meyers, Florida; his significant children, Mrs. Paula Hays (Chris) of Somerset and Whittney Sexton of Frenchburg; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Sherri Turner of Tipp City, Ohio and a special Cousin, Kaye Rigsby of Brodhead as well as a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, April 9 at the Marvin E. Owens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Cledith Thacker officiating. Burial was in Elmwood Cemetery in Mt. Vernon.
