Opal was born September 19, 1925 in Fort Worth to Houston and Nellie Moore. She was raised in Springtown, where she went to school until g 12th grade when she married Frederick Raymond Flippin. They were married in Fort Worth at May Street Baptist Church. Opal was a homemaker, and an expert hat maker. She moved back to Kansas briefly before coming back to Fort Worth and raising her family there. For many years, Opal was a proud member of the First Assembly of God in Weatherford, and afterward at Center Point Church of God (Currently Calvary's Vision
She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Raymond, 9 brothers and sisters; son Gary Flippin; and grandchildren Rodney, Gayla, and Stacy.
