Age 80, of Hale, Michigan passed away peacefully with his family by his side on December 22, 2023. Leroy was born in West Branch, Michigan to the late Roy and Genevive (Miracle) Short on March 1, 1943. Leroy was a lifelong resident of Hale, and he really loved living in Northern Michigan. He worked as a custodian for the Hale School System for 31 years before he ultimately retired in 2002. He married the love of his life, . . . , in Hale, Michigan. The two spent 60 years together happily married, and they shared many wonderful memories. Some of Leroy's hobbies consisted of making demolition derby cars with his son Roy, working on the family farm, splitting wood, being outdoors, driving his tractor, and spending quality time with his family. Leroy was a very generous and helpful man, and he considered everyone to be a friend of his. He will be missed dearly by many.

Leroy is survived by his wife, . . .; children, . . . ; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; sisters, . . . ; sister-in-law, . . . ; brother-in-law, . . . ; many nieces and nephews; and his extended family, . . .. In addition to his parents, Leroy is preceded in death by his sisters, Maxine Bohley and Darlene Serrano.
