In 1881 Sanford purchased 1060 acres of farmland in Bell County between Heidenheimer and Rogers. However, he and Dora continued to live with his father in The Baugh Mansion in Coryell County until Sanford died of typhiod three years later.
Over the sixty years this family lived in The Baugh Mansion, there were numerous deaths of those living there, both adults and children. Many of those grave sites remain unknown, even after searching the burial records of all the cemeteries within twenty miles. There is good reason to believe there was a family cemetery somewhere on the 734 acres owned by William Lovic Baugh. Time and greedy land developers have erased any remains of those graves. The original property was divided and sold many times over the years, and it's cheaper to bulldoze headstones and build over the graves than to move them.
