Mary Ellen Waddell, 97, of Mt. Olive passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at her residence. She was born May 24, 1926.
She is survived by her children, grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ollice B. Tanner and Effie Eugene Roberts Tanner; four brothers and 8 sisters.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 12pm at Gardendale Heritage Funeral Home, James Ritchey officiating; burial will follow in Moncrief Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 11am to 12pm.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of Mary to the Alabama Baptist Children's Home, as this group was very near and dear to her heart.
