Lucille Ida Marie (Voigt) Weniger, 92, passed away in her home in Beeville, Texas on Tuesday, December 12, 2023.

Lucille was born May 20, 1931, in New Braunfels to Ernst and Anita (Eckerman) Voigt. She married her hero, Wallace "Wally" Alex Weniger, on November 14, 1948, in New Braunfels. They were active and loyal members of Faith Lutheran Church. Lucille's passion as a seamstress led her to own and operate Circle B Sewing Center & Sewing Machine Sales in downtown Beeville. She retired in 2002.

As a dedicated and beloved member of the Beeville Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, Lucille committed a remarkable number of years to that organization. She served as past president as well as every position available even serving multiple times. She served five years in the Seguin Auxiliary before relocating to Beeville. In 2021, she was recognized by the BVFD Auxiliary with a 65-year service pin for her support to firefighters. She and her husband were proud parents who raised their children to serve their communities through fire protection. Her sons, Dennis, served in the U.S. Marine Corps; Gerald is a retired Seguin firefighter; Kevin, a retired U.S. Coast Guard firefighter, serves as a volunteer firefighter in Wasilla, Alaska; and their daughter, Roxanne, followed in her mother's footsteps and serves in the Beeville VFD Ladies' Auxiliary. Lucille's grandson, Darren, serves as a lieutenant with the BVFD.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Anita Voigt; her husband, Wally Weniger who passed away in 1998; two sisters, Lillian Kunkel and Amy Mapes; a brother, Wilfred Voigt; and a grandson, Brian Anderson.

Left to cherish fond memories of their mother are her three sons, Dennis (Sabrina) Weniger of Nevada, Gerald (Sandy) Weniger of Lake McQueeney and Kevin (Mary) Weniger of Alaska; and her daughter, Roxanne Blankenship of Beeville; as well as two sisters, Charlene Spillman of Buda and Janice Kroesche of New Braunfels; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Galloway & Sons Funeral Home in Beeville.
