David Lovett, 82 of Adel passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023 at his home. David was born August 16, 1941 in Sparks to the late James Eugene Lovett, Sr. and Martha Jim Avera Lovett. He proudly served in the United States Army and worked with Sears, Roebuck and Co. before retiring. David loved his family and was an avid Cook High Hornet supporter and Ga Bulldog Fan. He was a member of First Baptist Church Adel, where he was also a member of the Men's III Sunday School Class and a member of the VVA Chapter 1090 Group. David enjoyed working in the kitchen at his church, he was fondly known for having a big heart and never met a stranger.

David was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Lovett; and his brother, Jimmy Lovett.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 26, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church Adel with Dr. Neal Sweet officiating. Interment will follow at Woodlawn City Cemetery with military rites. The family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's III Sunday School Class, the VVA Chapter 1090 Group, and the Ladies Hornets Softball Team.
