Services for Jewel Louise "Boots" Pfeifer Nichols, 91, of Tyler, will be held on Thursday, December 28, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Broadway Church of Christ where she was a faithful member with Phil Hancock officiating. Visitation will start at 10:00 a.m. before the funeral service. A private burial will be held at Gooch Cemetery in Mason, Texas under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.
Mrs. Nichols passed away Tuesday, December 19, 2023, in Tyler, Texas. She was born February 11, 1932, in Hext, Texas to Walter August Pfeifer and Pearl Pearcie Pfeifer.
She was married to Phillip K. Nichols on July 1, 1955, in Abilene, Texas. They were married for 56 years.
Boots was a teacher for 30 years in the Hermleigh Independent School District and the Abilene Independent School District. After retirement, she and her husband, Phil, spent 2 years from 1989-1991 as missionaries for the Lord's church in Vienna, Austria and Budapest, Hungary.
Boots was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Pearl Pfeifer, husband, Phillip K. Nichols, sister, Mabel Reeves, brother, W.A. Pfeifer, Jr., and another brother, L.V. Pfeifer. She is survived by her loving family including her daughter and son-in-law, Kathy and Mike Miller; two grandchildren, Troy Miller and Alysse Miller; and one great-granddaughter, Stella Miller.
Pallbearers will be Perry Reeves, Walt Pfeifer, Derek Pfeifer, and Troy Miller.
