Born in Cambridge, MA, to the late Bartholomew and Abina (Mahoney) Merrick of Cork, Ireland. The beloved wife of the late Arthur J. Bondaruk for 50 years. Loving mother of John Bondaruk of Cumberland, RI, and William Bondaruk and his wife Sheri of Lexington. Devoted sister of Noreen Logan of Canton and brother William Merrick of Bedford. She is also survived by 2 grandchildren, Luke and Haley, and by 7 nieces and nephews.
Maureen graduated from Cambridge Latin High School and, prior to marrying, was employed at Harvard University and the Watertown Arsenal. Following the birth of her 2 sons she became a lifelong homemaker.
In addition to caring for her family, Maureen's great passions were the close friendships of people she loved, gardening, and tending to the grounds of her home. Perhaps her greatest love was for the many pets she cared for over the years, including several rescued animals in her later years. She was known for her kind, gentle spirit and a willingness to help anyone in need.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday December 20 at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA at 12:30pm. Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
