William Dewey Owen, aged 86, of Pine Mountain, GA, passed away Tuesday, December 13, 2022, at his residence.
Bro. Owen was born in Ashland, Clay County, Alabama, July 6, 1936, the son of George and Johnie Owen. He was preceded in death by a son, Joel and a daughter, Miriam.
He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jackie Owen of Pine Mountain; son Steven Owen (Kim) of Columbus, GA; nine grandchildren, Jim Owen, Chance Owen, Cason Owen, Paige Henderson, Carla Lewis, Jared Bullington, Mandy Alcivar, Maria Rose Wood, and James Greg Bullington; as well as 12 great-grandchildren. He was pastor of Landmark Baptist Church in Pine Mountain, beginning in 1980, and was a public school teacher. During his pastorship at Landmark Baptist, numerous churches were established in the Philippines through the Philippines Missionary Outreach, sponsored by Landmark Baptist Church.
A memorial service for Bro. William Dewey Owen will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home in Hamilton, GA. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
