RONAN, Montana - Richard Arnold Peterson, 80, of Ronan, Montana, formerly of Idaho Falls and Lima, Montana, died September 17, 1991 at his home.
He was born July 4, 1911 at Livingston, Montana to Lawrence and Dora Peterson. He grew up and attended schools in Lima, Montana, and graduated from Lima High School. He attended the Montana School of Mines in Butte, Montana. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.
On July 2, 1962 he married Viola Cox at Las Vegas. He was retired as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Services. He moved from Idaho Falls to Ronan, Montana in 1973. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans.
Survivors include his wife of Ronan; his children, Richard Arnold Peterson Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska, and Anita Peterson Lockhart of Santa Rosa, California; his stepchildren, Jason Crook of Hyrum, Utah, Kevin Crook of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Terri Doty of Missoula, Montana, and Benjamin Read of Austin, Texas; and 18 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
Funeral services will be Friday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Ronan with the Rev. Gordon Cummings officiating.
