Reimendo was born and raised in San Antonio.
He enlisted in the Marines 4 January 1966, at the San Antonio Recruiting Office and left for boot camp the same day and arrived at the San Diego MCRD 4 January
for boot camp training, where he was assigned to Platoon 3030, Recruit Training Battalion.
The Platoon Commander was SSgt KD Fredrick and Drill Instructors were Corp RL Reed and SK Lewis. Marine Corp training had been for 12 weeks duration, but because of the urgent need for manpower in Vietnam, Basic Training was reduced to 8 weeks.
Arriving in Vietnam, Reimendo was assigned to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Bravo Company was on a combat patrol when, Reimendo died as a result of hostile gunshots wounds to the head and right leg, when Bravo Company engaged hostile forces northeast of Que Son.
Reimendo was single and served his country for 1 year, 4 months and 11 days and was KIA #12,343.
