Rose Rumsey Stuckey, 87, died April 14, 1997 at Oakwood Villa in Hutchinson. She was born April 30, 1909 at Hays, the daughter of John and Mary Schmidt Karlin.
A resident of Oakwood Villa for the three years, she was a homemaker. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, Hutchinson.
She married John Rumsey at Hays. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include: five sons, Robert Rumsey, Seattle, James Rumsey, Edward Wolcott and Larry Wolcott, all of Hutchinson, and William Rumsey, Bella Vista, Ark.; three daughters, Irene Steffen, Turkey, Texas, Patricia Kaul, Topeka, and Mary Ann Black, Amarillo, Texas; a brother, John Karlin, Hays; four sisters, Josephine Glassman and Virginia Hogan, both Denver, Martina Dreiling, Fort Collins, Colo., and Rita Zelinski, Milwaukee, Wis.; 30 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
Parish vigil will be at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Brock's North Hill Chapel, Hays. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays, with Father Paulinus Karlin presiding. Friends may call at the funeral chapel from 2 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from 8:30 a.m. to service time Friday. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials mays be sent to the American Diabetes Foundation in care of Brock's North Hill Chapel.
