Karen Sue Gilstrap, 86, of Gore, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 with her loving family at her side. She was born February 18, 1937 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas to Robert Roy and Bernice I (Ketner) Fuller. She attended public schools and went on to further her education earning her master's degree.

Karen married Alva Edward Gilstrap on July 9, 1960. They shared many years of life, marriage, and memories together.

She worked as an elementary school teacher for many years and retired from Gum Springs Public Schools.

Karen enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She loved teaching them all how to make pies, hot rolls, and cooking with love.

Karen had more love in her little finger than most people do in their entire body; she always had love to share. It didn't matter who you were or where you came from, she made you feel loved and worthy.

She is survived by her big sister, JoAnn Clark and family of independence, MO; her rich and famous baby brother (unk) Robert Roy Fuller JR. and family of Sallisaw, OK; her son, Bo Gilstrap of Gore, OK; daughter and son-in-law, Amy and John Bruce of Gore, OK; her favorite daughter, Susan Gilstrap of Gore, OK, Sam Locust and family of Okay, OK; 8 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren,3 great-great-grandchildren, a multitude of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father, "Bo" and "Mammy" Robert Roy and Bernice Iantha Fuller; her husband of 56 years, Alva Gilstrap; her sister, Darlene Girty; her niece, Dannette Fletcher; and her grandson, Wyatt Dakota Bruce.
