Mrs. Rosa Emly Painter, of Route 4, Seymour, Dies Mrs. Rosa Emly Painter, 93, of Route 4, Seymour, died at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. John's Hospital in Springfield.

She was born Dec. 15, 1871, in Garden County, Indiana, a daughter of Joseph and Mary Clark Cook. She was a charter member of the Christian Union Church. Mrs. Painter was married Feb. 4, 1889, at Dogwood to Otis Adalphus Painter, who preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 1952.

Survivors include a son, Horace M. Painter, of Route 2, Seymour; three daughters, Mrs. Art Mae Ellison, of Route 3, Ava; Mrs. Ruth Gertrude Phillpot of Route 2, Ava, and Mrs. Otha Ann Silvey of Route 4, Seymour; two brothers, Alonzo A. and Roy Cook, both of Springfield; 17 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church by Rev. James Anderson. Burial will be made in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery by Clinkingbeard Funeral Home.
