Beulah Crews was born in Kentucky. She graduated from Ardmore, Oklahoma public schools. She received a bachelor's degree in liberal arts from Mary Hardin Baylor College in Belton and a bachelor's degree in library science from the University of Houston. Mrs. Crews was librarian for 25 years at Cypress-Fairbanks High School in Houston and for nine years at Royal High School:in Brookshire, near Houston. The Cypress-Fairbanks High School Library of Rare Books was named in her honor in 1985. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star.
