Services Friday For Horace Painter
Funeral services for Horace M. Painter, 92, Ava, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Clinkingbeard Chapel with the Rev. John Moles officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.
A lifelong resident of the Ava community, Mr. Painter died at 11:30 p.m. February 23, at Crestview Healthcare in Ava
He was a former construction worker with the Missouri Highway Department and a farmer. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Seymour.
Born March 1, 1894, at Dogwood, he was the son of Otis A. and Rosa E. Cook Painter. He married Bessie Opal Winfrey on Feb. 8, 1918 at Miami, Okla. She preceded him in death.
Surviving are four sons, Etcyl, Ava, Glenn, Springfield, Dale, Coal City, Ill., and Orville, Hyattsville, Md.; one sister, Opha Silvey, Seymour; 11 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
