She passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Laurel Heights in London, Ky. at the age of 91 years, 5 months & 10 days. Melda was a life-long resident of Leslie Co. and she was a homemaker. She and her husband, Hanna also owned & operated a country store for over 40 years. She was a member of the Cutshin Bible Church. She enjoyed walking, quilting, traveling & being involved in the lives of her family. Melda Baker was preceded in death by her parents: Lilly Cornett(Lilly Cornett Woods)& Nancy Lewis, her beloved husband of 44 years: Hanna Baker, son: Hanna Baker, Jr., sister: Mallie Cornett Elinger & several half-brothers & sisters. She leaves the following relatives surviving: one son: Charles Wilson Baker & wife, Melissa of Cutshin, KY., two daughters: Mildred Ann Lewis of Corbin, KY. & Bonnie Jean Day & Elmer of East Bernstadt, KY., 9 grandchildren: Amy Lewis of Berea, Ky., Samuel Lewis & Nicole of Cutshin, KY. & Timothy Lewis of Cutshin, KY., Joan Wendover Day Delahousey & Kevin of Harrodsburg, KY., Roderick Elmer Day & Daphne of East Bernstadt, Ky., Nancy Susan Day Hurley & Owen of East Bernstadt, KY., Deanna Baker of Corbin, KY., Keisha Baker Little & Dustin of Cutshin, KY. & Charles Wilson Baker II of Cutshin, KY., also 15 great-grandchildren & 7 great-great-grandchildren.
