Scott Edward Ball, 28, of Six Mile, Boone County, died Feb. 5, 1999, in Boone Memorial Hospital after a short illness, said a spokeswoman for the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

He was an employee of Lightning Construction Co., Chapmanville.

Surviving: wife, Shanley Brumfield Ball; daughter, Katie Ball at home; parents, Robert and Sharon Ball of Six Mile; sister, Brandi Ball of Six Mile; grandmother, Christine Doss of Six Mile; great-grandmother, Rhema Doss of Six Mile; one nephew; one niece.

Service will be 1 p.m. Monday at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison, with the Rev. Ronnie Gibson officiating. Burial will be in the Doss family cemetery, Six Mile. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
