Larry Eugene Armstrong, age 81, of Goodlettsville, Tennessee passed away on Friday, December 15, 2023 at his home with family nearby. Larry had been battling cancer before being called to Heaven to rest for eternity.
Larry was born August 20, 1942 in Nashville, Tennessee to his parents Joseph Virgil Armstrong and Gracie A (Young) Armstrong. Larry served in the US Army, Company D, 1st Battalion, 18th Infantry, 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam and was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart. Once honorably discharged from the Army, Larry worked as an OTR Truck Driver. He was last employed as a maintenance supervisor with the downtown Nashville Library before his retirement.
Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Kay Osborne; two sons Ricky (Marianne) and Terry (Stacy) Armstrong with ex-wife Brownie May Britt; a daughter Melissa Armstrong with ex-wife Geoffrey Armstrong; and grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Mildred Lucile Armstrong Beckham, Joe Ann Armstrong Talley; and his only brother Jerry Donald Armstrong.
Burial services with Full Military Honors will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Beech Cumberland Presbyterian Church Cemetery, 3216 Long Hollow Pike, Hendersonville, Tennessee.
Larry was buried in his military uniform at his request. Arrangements have been handled by Eastland Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Nashville, Tennessee.
