Born January 29, 1939 in Buncombe County, Tom was a son of the late Richard Rayfield Hanner and Leila Mitchell Hanner.
Surviving is his wife, Linda Mazingo Hanner; daughters, Elizabeth Padgett, Debbie Aslinger and Lindy Al-Hagal; son, Michael Hanner; step-daughters, Deborah Beane and Daphne Whitted; brother, David Hanner; 18 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, December 17 at Trinity Baptist Church, with Pastors Winston Parrish, Fady Al-Hagal, Allen Rash and Doug Guy officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service.
