Private Jules Henri Gilson, Chasseur, Belgian Army, died 11 April 1930 and became the first soldier interred at the Last Post Fund National Field of Honour in Pointe-Claire, Quebec. The following month, Private Sade Albrecht, also of the Belgian Army, laid to rest a few days following the first annual observances of 24th May at the cemetery, a tradition which continues to this day. According to Serge M. Durflinger, who wrote LEST WE FORGET, A History of the Last Post Fund 1909-1999
