John Carl Beeler, 79 of Coatsville, Missouri passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at the Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, Missouri.

The son of Carl Edward and Doris Loraine (Burgher) Beeler, he was born on January 28, 1944 in Centerville, Iowa. He was a 1961 graduate from Lancaster High School in Lancaster, Missouri. In 1968, he graduated from the University of Missouri in Columbia, Missouri with a degree in Agriculture Education. In April of 1966, John was united in marriage to Elaine Marie Angelo "Angie" and to this union three sons were born, John William, Joseph Creighton and Justin Cole.

John is survived by his wife of 57 years, Angie Beeler of Coatsville, Missouri; three sons, John Bill Beeler and wife, Kimberly of Lancaster, Missouri, Joseph Beeler and wife, Kris of Ashland, Missouri and Justin Beeler and wife, Shannon of Mililani, Hawaii; 13 grandchildren, Thaddeus Beeler and wife, Sarah of Ashland, Missouri, Scott Austin Beeler and wife, Gabriela of St. Louis, Missouri, Logan Shively and wife, Heather of Lancaster, Missouri, Joseph Beeler of Ashland, Missouri, Jaron Shively and wife, Jessica of Kirksville, Missouri, Elizabeth Millar and husband, Eric of Ashland, Missouri, Dalton Shively and wife, Hanna of Albia, Iowa, Justice Beeler of Ashland, Missouri, Joshua Beeler of Kirksville, Missouri, Alaina Beeler of Ashland, Missouri, Caleb Beeler of West Lafayette, Indiana, Lydia Beeler of Ashland, Missouri and Justin Beeler of Columbia, Missouri; 9 great grandchildren; one sister, Judy Harris of Kirksville, Missouri; one brother, Jack Beeler and wife, Connie of Kirksville, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews; many cousins and other family members.

John is preceded in death by his parents, Carl Edward Beeler on February 22, 2008 and Doris Loraine (Burgher) Beeler on April 29, 2006.

John attended as a child the Coatsville Holiness Church in Coatsville, Missouri and later attended the Coatsville Baptist Church in Coatsville, Missouri.

Before his illness, John loved visiting, taking his grandchildren on horse and mule rides and to the Fort Madison Trail Ride and Rodeo. He was a past member of both the Coatsville Saddle Club and the Bloomfield, Iowa club. He had fun training a team of Belgian horses to pull a chariot he made and a team of oxen to pull a wagon and sled. He showed both in local parades and for a number of years, took his favorite mule, Festus, to the Glenwood Reunion for children to ride.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lancaster Christian Church in Lancaster, Missouri with Terry Hunsaker, Pastor of the Illinois Bend Community Church in LaPlata, Missouri officiating. Music will be provided by Sarah Beeler, pianist and Cole Tippett, soloist, with special selections of "Mary, Did You Know?" and "Glorious Day". A congregational song of "Victory In Jesus" will be sung also. Pallbearers will be Thaddeus Beeler, Scott Austin Beeler, Logan Shively, Joseph Beeler, Justin Beeler and Caleb Beeler. Honorary pallbearer will be Paul Beeler. Memorials have been established for the Coatsville Cemetery in Coatsville, Missouri. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15, 2023 between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. at the Norman Funeral Home in Lancaster, Missouri. Burial will be in the Coatsville Cemetery in Coatsville, Missouri. Arrangements are under the direction of Norman Funeral Home of Lancaster, Missouri.
