Alice Anita Gray Gantt, 97, passed away on Wednesday, December 6, 2023.
She was born on July 25, 1926 to the late Thomas Dewey Gray and Roxie Colvard.
She was also preceded by her husband of 60 years, Clegg Robert Gantt, Jr.; sisters Bille Jean Gray McLean and Elizabeth Ann Gray Barnhardt.
She was a third grade teacher at Mountain View Elementary and Clyde Campbell Elementary for 30 years. She was a circle leader at St Luke's Methodist Church and remained a vital and active participant in life into her 90's.
Surviving are her children, Bobbie Gould, Benjamin Gantt and Jeanna (Joseph) Kerley; grandchildren, Janalynne Hedden, Steven Gantt, Chopper Johnson, Valerie Maurer, Alicia Phillips, Colby Gantt, Joshua Kerley, Jessica Henley and Jenny Kerley; great-grandchildren: Mason Hedden, Mikayla and Michael Maurer, Jr, Austin Phillips, Jackson Owens Gantt, Judah and Elijah Kerley and Emerson Henley.
A memorial service will be held at at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at the Bass-Smith Chapel.
A graveside service will be held at First Baptist in Hudson.
