Wendy Anderson Powell, 63, of 680 Park Springs Road died Friday April 4, 2008 at Danville Regional Medical Center. She had been in declining health for a period of time. She was born in Schoolfield, VA January 2, 1945 to the late Charles H. and Ethel Scearce Anderson. Due to ill health she had retired from Mary' s Diner. She attended Danville city schools, was a member of West Main Baptist Church of Danville, VA., but attended First Baptist Church of Yanceyville. Funeral Services will be Sunday 2pm at First Baptist Church, conducted by Pastor Phil Kelly, and Rev. Claude Harrelson. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Survivors are husband William Lee Powell of the home, one sister Iva Newman and husband Raymond of Danville, step-children Bruce Powell, Lou Ann Reaves and husband Mike all of Yanceyville, step-grandchildren, Elizabeth Reaves, B.J. Powell, Jason Reaves, and Alex Powell. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one sister Kay Anderson, step-mother Pauline Anderson, and father-in-law Wilbert Lee (Bill) Powell.
