Claude was born in the town of Macomb Feb. 11. 1900. the son of Clarence and Ina Murton Hutton, He attended schools in Macomb and married Mabel Macaulay in Richville Aug. 3, 1927. Rev. Frank Bennett presiding. Following their marriage, the couple farmed on his father's farm on the California Road in the town of Macomb until 1932.
They moved to their home at Brasie Corners, where he farmed and rented camps at Black Lake.
He was a member of the DePeyster Masonic Lodge and a past president of the Pleasant Lake Cemetery Association.
He was a past member of the Macomb Historical Society and of the Macomb Grange.
