Kenneth Berry Obituary

Kenneth Ray Berry was born on July 18, 1954, to Jack and Vera Berry in Holdenville, Oklahoma. He was preceded in death by both parents, six sisters, Christine Brewer, Jackie Mae Stroud, Neola Jackson, Cora Brown, Wanda Jones, and Rosetta Berry; and four brothers, Benjamin Berry, Earl Berry, Jackie Berry and Donald Berry. He was baptized at an early age.

Kenneth departed this life on Tuesday, December 5, 2023, at home in New Lima, Oklahoma. Upon graduation from New Lima High School, he joined the U.S. Army stationed in Fort Jackson, South Carolina and St. Louis, Missouri, and overseas service in Germany as a Hawk Missile Crewman. He received a National Defense Service medal. After serving in the Army, he was self-employed working in the general labor field. Kenneth loved and had a passion for hanging out with friends and grilling. He was an avid basketball player and in his younger years loved to play basketball at different parks in OKC, OK. At an early age he learned to hunt and fish. Coon hunting became a special sport derived from enjoying music of hounds on each trail of raccoon.

Kenneth leaves to cherish his memory one sister, Deaner Berry of OKC, OK, three brothers, Carl (Ora) Berry of Spencer, OK, Dorris Berry, Shawnee, OK and Sam (Nicole) Berry of Wewoka, OK and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at First Baptist Church Lima. Burial will follow at Wisner Chapel Cemetery in Wetumka. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Swearingen Funeral Home in Seminole, Oklahoma.
