MAPLE HILL- Paulina M. Arnold, 82, died Monday, April 14, 2008 at the Midland Hospice House in Topeka. She was born May 13, 1925, at Maple Hill the daughter of Paul and Margaret Ann Romig McClelland. Paulina grew up in the Maple Hill community and graduated from Maple Hill High School. Mrs. Arnold was a member of the Maple Hill Community Congregational Church and the quilters group at the church. She was a past member of the Eastern Star. Paulina enjoyed gardening, sewing, cooking and quilting. She was married to Claude H. Arnold on July 3, 1942 at Topeka. He preceded her in death on May 9, 2002. Mrs. Arnold was also preceded in death by five brothers and a sister. Survivors include two sons. Ken Arnold Estes Park, CO. and Wayne Arnold, Valley Falls; three daughters, Claudia Smith, Xenia, OH, Carol Dinnen, Maple Hill and Teresa Martin, Meriden; three brothers, John McClelland, Washington, PA, Gary McClelland, Westport, WA, and David McClelland, Issaquah, WA; a sister, Mary Fisher, Spokane, WA; nine grandchildren and three step grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
