Mary Magdalene Smith, 87, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Monday, December 4, 2023, at Riverview Nursing Facility in Columbus, Ohio with her loving daughters by her side. Mary was born on December 15, 2023, in Mudsock, Ohio to her parents Claude Woodie and Georgie (Miller) Woodie. Mary leaves to cherish her memory her daughters Kathie price and Donna (Brad) Funk; brother Don (Pat) Woodie; grandchildren Duane (Holly) Price, Kevin Price, Jeff Downey and Jaymie (Justin) Theriault; and great grandchildren Ryland Downey, Daniel Downey, Lauryn Price and Joseph Price. She joins in rest her beloved husband D L Smith; brother Allen Woodie; sister Louise Fraley; and parents Claude and Georgie Woodie. She will be dearly missed.

Mary was a kind and caring woman. She was very sociable and loved to keep up with what was in vogue. She always exhibited elegance and grace in her appearance; not a hair was out of place. She was a true homemaker and loved to cook. She loved to shop and was a collector of angel figurines. She deeply loved and supported her husband D L, even volunteering at the local VFW in Sunbury. She was a Christian woman and conducted herself with the same temperance and compassion that her faith teaches. She was a beloved wife, mother, and friend and her passing leaves us in sorrow as much as it leaves us grateful for having her in our lives for so many years.

Arrangements were made with Snyder Funeral Homes, DeVore Chapel in Sunbury, Ohio. The family will hold a private visitation. A graveside service will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens in Westerville, Ohio at 12:30 PM Thursday, December 7, Pr. Daniel Lamphier officiating.
