A native of Madison County, he was a son of the late Laura and Joe Thomason. He was a Veteran of the United States Army having served in the Korean War and he retired from Oliver Rubber Company after 35 years of employment. Caiphas came from a very large, close family and he loved staying in touch with them. In his 30 plus years of retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard and always had a very productive summer garden. Most importantly, he was a Christian man who loved his church family and lived his life as an example of Christian love.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Johnny Dillard; sisters, Laura "Boots" Berryman and Candice Thomason and brothers, W.O. Thomason and Walter Thomason.
