Bessie Crews Coles Ferguson, 92, of 231 South Ridge Street, Apt. 320, Danville, died Friday, April 11, 2008 at her residence. Born Jan. 3, 1916 in Pittsylvania County, she was the daughter of the late Allen and Nannie Choice Crews. She was formerly married to the late James Coles. She later married the late Frank Ferguson. Survivors include one daughter, Aquilla Coles Woodside of Hinesville, Ga; one step-daughter, Gracie Lee of Danville; and a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by nine sisters, Pansy Thompson, Classie Terry, Ella Inge, Viole Ferrell, Nonnie Witcher, Regina Inge, Jimmie Thompson-Ingram, Vennie Motley, Ollie C. Coles and one brother, Edward "E.T." Crews. The family will receive friends at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from Peaceful Zion Apostolic Church with Elder Kenny Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in Danville, Memorial Gardens.
