Susan (Susie) Marie Zamora, 68, of Barstow, California, was called home, entering Heaven's gate on July 15, 2022, surrounded by the love of her life, Dennis and her loving family. She was born to Carmen (Hernandez) Villareal and Rudy Villareal Sr. on March 10, 1954, in San Bernardino, California.
Susie graduated from Kennedy High School in 1972. She then attended Airline School to pursue her career as a travel agent. Susie married her high school sweetheart, Dennis Zamora, on June 1, 1974, and together they had two sons Christopher and Marcus.
Susie became the proud owner of a travel agency called the Travel Shack. She proudly promoted her business with a personalized license plate 'Travel Shack'. Susie later sold the Travel Shack and became a travel agent for a government contractor at Fort Irwin.
Susie had a love for clothes and worked at the Dress Barn for a short period. She finished her career working for her nephew Abel at A to Z Lock and Security. Susie loved giving back to the community and helping the children of Barstow. She was a proud and active member of the Kiwanis Club of Barstow Crossroads.
Susie was an amazing cook and always had food on her table. Susie loved the holidays, especially Christmas and Halloween. She always made these holidays extra special for anyone who came to visit, spoiling them with homemade Chile beans and cornbread.
More than anything else, Susie loved spending time with her family. She was a very proud and loving grandma. She enjoyed babysitting and watching her grandchildren in any activity they were involved in. Susie was an active member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church.
She is proceeded in death by her mother Carmen Villareal, and father-in-law Vincent Zamora.
Susie is survived by her loving husband Dennis, of forty-eight years; two children Christopher Zamora (Amanda), Marcus Zamora (Leticia); four grandchildren Alyssa, Bryson, Bronxon, and Brodon Zamora; Father, Rudy Villareal Sr. (Pauline), siblings; Rudy Villareal Jr. (Elaine), Sandy Contreras (Abel), Sally Villareal; Mother-in-law, Linda Zamora; brother & sister-in-law's; Connie, Marylou (Isac), Rudy (Sally), Eddie (Kim), nieces and nephews, godchildren, and many other family members.
Services will be Friday, August 12, 2022, at St Joseph Catholic Church, Barstow California.
