Funeral Services for Mrs. Maggie Castles Nelson Held May 31
Funeral services for Mrs. Maggie Castles Nelson, who passed away last Wednesday at the Houston Hospital, were held at Friendship on Thursday, May 31, the Rev. D D Satterwhite of the Houston Baptist Church officiating.
The Houston Funeral Home Service was in charge and the pallbearers were James Dulaney, Archie Burgess, Ruben Byars, Oscar Bishop and Cleve Doss.
Mrs. Nelson, born in 1882, was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Castles. She became a member of the church as a young woman and moved her membership to the Houston Baptist Church some time ago.
She is survived by her only son, Schultz, who has been overseas 19 months and is at present serving with the quartermaster corps in Andernach, Germany.
Other than Schultz, the only living relatives are her niece, Omega Castles, her sister-in-law, Mrs. Charles Castles, and Mr. Rufe Chenault, an uncle, all of Houston.
