Charles "Benton" Day, age 75, widower of the late Nora Liggett Day, died Friday, December 1, 2023, at Saint Joseph Hospital, in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Paris, Kentucky, on October 15, 1948, to the late Charles and Margaret Benton Day. Benton was a retired Modern Woodmen of America Insurance agent and a member of Paris Church of the Nazarene. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends, playing cards at the Paris City Club and watching University of Kentucky basketball and football and Cincinnati Reds baseball.

He is survived by: a daughter, Joanna (Mathew) Robbins; a stepson, Ronnie "R.J." Shrout, Jr.; five grandchildren, Charlie Morehead, Abigail Morehead, Scarlett Morehead, Lillian Robbins and Tyler Matthews; two brothers, Larry (Debbie) Day and Preston Day; three nieces, Maggie Day, Katy Grogan and Amy Richardson; and a cousin, Jane Day Young.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, December 9, at Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home, 1120 Main Street, Paris. Burial will follow at Paris Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 9, until the hour of service at the funeral home. Arrangements were entrusted to Lusk-McFarland Funeral Home.
