Rose H. Kahn, known professionally as Dr. Rose Parker, age 91, died May 21, 2007 at Chelsea Retirement Community.

She was born October 4, 1915 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Karl Herrmann and Bertha (Stockinger) Herrmann.

A woman ahead of her time, Rose graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School in 1944. She earned her Masters Degree from U of M School of Public Health. She worked at U of M Internal Medicine and did medical research in nuclear medicine.

Rose was an early member of the recovering community in Washtenaw County, and helped many others recover from addiction.

Rose spent her summers at Surveyor's Island near Drummond Island.

She married Edgar A. Kahn, MD in Ann Arbor on April 24, 1949 and he preceded her in death on August 29, 1985.

Survivors included one son, Allen (Ouida) Parker of Soldotna, Alaska; three daughters, Barbara Potter of Bradenton, FL, Betsy (John) Lehndroff of Boulder, CO, and Carol Rose Kahn of Manchester; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

Memorial services were held at Chelsea Retirement Community (Towsley Village) Chapel with the Rev. Beth Foster officiating.
