Shirley Mae Nunn Roedel, 81, passed away Monday, November 27, 2023.

She was born May 15, 1942 in St. Louis, Missouri to the late Floyd and Jessie Swanner Nunn. She had worked at UMIC as a keypunch operator. She enjoyed traveling the world, being an ambassador at Southwind Heights and watching the Walton's and Little House on the Prairie. She founded SNAP, a post-polio support group and was the March of Dimes Queen when she was sixteen. She was active in her grandkids sports.

She was survived by her children, Kim Elliott and Martin Schreiber; step- daughter, Sherry Ellis; grandson, Chris Idrees; step-grandsons, Aron Ellis and Chase Ellis; sister, Dorothy Henderson (Bobby); brothers, Leo Nunn, Kenny Nunn (Emma Jean) and Donald Wayne Nunn (Lynn); fur baby, Sasha and grand-dog, Cooper; sisters-in-law, Tollie Sue Nunn, Carol Nunn, Sabra Nunn and Freda Ragland and many loving nieces and nephew.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy "Junior" Roedel; grandson, Joshua Elliott; brothers, Eugene Nunn, Ronnie Dale Nunn, Bennie Nunn and Lonnie Nunn and sister-in-law, Dorthy Nunn.

The visitation will be from 11:00 until noon, Saturday, December 2, 2023 at Gregg- Langford Bookout Funeral Home Chapel.

A celebration of her life will be 12:00 Saturday at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Pine Log Cemetery.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Jacob Hutchison, Bobby Henderson, Michael Henderson, Aron Ellis, Rickey Nunn and Blaine Nunn.
