Son of Hopestill Delano (1735–1829) and Abigail Everson (1742–1809).

Aaron was a seafaring ship's Captain, along what was described as "the New England trade routes." The young, handsome Captain was lost at sea, unfortunately.

His descendants still keep his portrait, and it resides in Salt Lake City, UT. His descendant suggested the portrait is haunted with his spirit. (I'm thinking, "The Ghost and Mrs. Muir.") It's intriguing, without doubt.

Captain Delano's portrait was appraised for 8-10k, by noted appraiser, Ken Farmer, in 2016. The artist is currently unknown.

Notes and conjecture:
The Georgetown Historical Society places his death: 27 May 1799. At: Woolwich, Sagadahoc, Maine . Which would make him 31 yoa. https://georgetownhistoricalsociety.org
However, since both his parents were alive, and of means; it's hard to fathom that if the body was recovered, it wasn't buried with a stone. Somewhere. Most likely, the family lot.
The name Delano. Was it actually DeLano at one time? Was the family originally called de Lannoy, or de La Noye; meaning "Of Lannoy"?
Origin: Walloon Flanders (Dutch), Belgium.
